Dear Kermit, It IS Easy Being Green!

You know what I’m obsessing over lately? Green! Maybe it has been the influence of St. Patrick’s Day, but probably not.  Despite the glow of my pale, pale skin, I am not Irish. And I’ve never tasted a beer I liked (Michael has a beer club and I’ve tried every single one). Even Guinness. I also thought St Patrick’s Day was Friday, then Saturday until being alerted it was in fact Sunday. I’m on top of important dates. So St. Patrick’s Day is kind of just another day for me. But I do love me some potatoes. And Celtic music. And, KELLY GREEN. That I can celebrate.

I’ve never thought to accept it into my color palette because it seems so BOLD and so…leprachan-ish. All I could see paired with it was orange. I’m not so into themes, like Americana or Irish(ana?),  especially in decorating my house. But lately I’ve been seeing AMAZING inspiration pictures for using this color in homes. And it is chic. And I’m already planning which room I’m going to Kelly Green-ify.

What is funny is that this is the paint color I was aiming for for my living room. Obviously, it ended up being way more of a khaki color, sadly, but I like it. But now I really wish it were the deep charcoal so I could kelly green it up! And that light fixture? The finish on it is to die for. Next house, next house.

I am lurving on this head board. And the wallpapered wall behind it. I also love that some mint and more of a mossy green were thrown in with the whites for accents. Not matchy matchy at all. I would even go so far as to say it doesn’t go together at all. But it does?! Someway, somehow this works.

Check out that dining room! Kelly green dining chairs? Without a stitch of green anywhere else? So daring. I love it! I would never think to do something like this. It works so well. I need more decorating ballz.

But this….this. Tis Amazing. The walls? The CEILING? That bed?! Okay, the bed isn’t green but COME ON! If I had to guess, this room is about one block from the Eiffel Tower, directly above a bakery that bakes fresh bread every hour. Because it is a dream. Amazingly simple, yet bold. I want.

I get that this color is a “trend” right now, but if liking a trend is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
